Supply chain management (SCM) describes the process chain that must be run through in order to complete the procurement, production or shipment of a product or service, for example. A product is considered to be complete when it has reached the customer or is in use. In contrast to logistics, supply chain management also includes order processing. SCM also goes beyond the boundaries of a single company and encompasses a cross-company view. The software solutions for supply chain management described here focus, among other things, on supplier management, purchasing processing, the display of key figures and demand planning.
