PCDAQ-Scope is a virtual metrology software based on the free Agilent VEE Runtime. VEE (Visual Engineering Environment) is a visual programming language that is primarily used in measurement and automation technology. Agilent VEE Runtime is particularly suitable for data acquisition and processing as well as for controlling the program flow.
The PCDAQ-Scope software transforms a standard notebook into three virtual measuring devices, i.e. a storage oscilloscope, line recorder/data logger and signal analyzer. Alongside the multimeter, the oscilloscope is one of the most important measuring instruments in electronics and electrical engineering. A data logger can, for example, record physical measurement data over a certain period of time, such as accelerations, temperatures and voltages. The signal analyzer has measurement routines and the measured signal can be analyzed and evaluated. It includes, for example, the phase, amplitude or frequency demodulation of signals.
More than 500 math routines can be linked together as required via a formula editor, including online FFT analysis (Rectangular, Blackman, Hann, Hamming, Harris, Triangular, Cosine, Lanczos, Gaussian - Vertical Scale: dBm RMS, dbV RMS, Linear RMS).
The Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is an algorithm for the efficient calculation of the Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT). FFT applications include measurement technology in general, signal analysis, the calculation of spectrograms, longitudinal wave reception with a PC and many more.
