Version: 6.6-2
The program saves the content of an OpenVMS device to BD-R(E) DL,DVD+R DL/ DVD + -R(W)/ CD-R(W)/ DVD-RAM.
This transfers all file properties to the Blu-Ray/ DVD/ CD.
If necessary, a small additional tool helps to split the disk content if the capacity of the medium is not sufficient.
The program supports a variety of DVD burners and Blu-ray burners, including the multi-burners from HP, Sony, Plextor, Pioneer and LG.
The program reads a foreign mounted device (e.g. a hard disk or a virtual disk) or a file and writes all data without changes (1:1) to a CD-R(W) / DVD-R(W) / DVD+R(W) / DVD-RAM / BD-R(E) SL/DL/TL/QL (SL = Single Layer; DL = Double Layer; TL = Triple Layer; QL = Quadruple Layer).
The maximum capacity of a DVD is around 8.5 GB, a BD-R(E) has 25 GB, a BD-RE DL 50 GB and a BD-RE TL more than 100 GB.
The file system is retained after this process. This means that ODS2/ODS5 or even different file systems can be stored on a DVD or Blu-ray disk. Other programs must be used to create the file system (mkisofs, lddriver, vddriver or other operating systems). The main focus of the solution is not the creation of DVD movies under OpenVMS, but is designed for the lossless archiving of large amounts of data.
The program can erase rewritable media (CD-RW/DVD-RW) and format DVD+RW, DVD-RAM or BD-RE(DL/TL/QL) media.
A special version for writing DVDs is available that runs on OpenVMS 6.2 or higher (VAX/Alpha).
