Our declared goal is to offer the numerous - often voluntary - employees of public libraries the best possible EDP system.
We are an innovative and specialized software developer for libraries. Founded in 1989 by Rüdiger Alich together with other employees of the Owingen library, who set up a library in the Brazilian children's village ABAI in 1994 and still support it today. Since 2010 Markus Gerards, employee of the KöB St. Martinus Linnich, supports the company IBTC for issues in the areas of web and infrastructure.
Our central product offering is the widely used library system BVS and the online catalog BVS eOPAC. We are continuously developing these and are happy to expand both with individual solutions.
In addition to our work here at IBTC, we are all volunteers in libraries of different sizes and therefore know this "world" very well from the inside as well as from the outside. When you contact us, you will usually speak immediately with a developer who knows both the code and the workings of a library.
Every inquirer is taken equally seriously, whether it's just a small library with 500 items or a large institution with 120,000 units. We offer the same high-quality IBTC service to all.
